Over the course of the past ten years or so the Italian or Tuscan design element has become more and more popular in furniture and interior design. What is is it that makes this style so different from other design styles in furniture and interior design? For instance you will find materials such as polished marble and stone as well as iron work in this type of furniture design.
Furniture in the Tuscan style also contains some unique architectural elements in the design of things such as chair legs that can resemble fluted columns.
Tuscan wrought iron work can be very beautiful with iron leafs and vines winding their way around the basic ironwork in the structure. Often the wrought iron furniture also incorporates the elements of polished marble or tile mosaics.
It is these basic features that are relied on to form the basis for what is now recognized as contemporary Italian or Tuscan design furniture.
