Standard bunk beds – there are a number of different types of bunk bed. A standard bunk bed will have two beds the same stacked one on top of the other. A single over double bunk bed has a single bed stacked above a double bed. A futon bunk is arranged like a standard bunk bed but with a futon bed underneath. The top bed of a bunk bed arrangement is only suitable for children age 6 and over. These beds are great for children who share a bedroom or children who have friends who sleepover.
Midi or Cabin Beds – are excellent kids beds for rooms with limited space. Midi beds usually have built in drawers and cupboards underneath the bed unit and often incorporate a pull out desk. Some Midi beds have under-bed curtains and leave the space underneath the bed free to be used as a play tent for children or as storage space for larger toys. Midi beds are lower than bunk beds and high sleepers and are suitable for younger children.
Cot/Beds are also available, when your child has finished with the cot it can be adapted easily into a first time toddler bed.

If you are setting out to shop for kids bedding then there are a few things that you will want to bear in mind. Kids do grow very quickly, so you may bear this in mind when purchasing their bed and mattress.
If you buy a small bed and complete bedding for it you my find yourself having to repeat the task in a couple of short years when they grow out of it. When shopping for kids bedding the design options are all over the place, because kids will like solid colors as well as cartoon characters.
There are some great online sources that can be of great help in this area and many of them even have great selections of custom kids beds as well.
Something else to bear in mind when shopping for kids bedding is to keep it simple. One thing that can aid in keeping it simple is to use a nice comforter for the beds top bed spread. Kids also love bed accessories such as teddy bears, so you may want to include something like that to keep them company at bed time.
